In order to pass DEA ( Domestic Energy Assessor ) qualification a portfolio of 5 completed EPCs for different types of properties is required by a student.

 

During 5 days training a student will complete full portfolio including 5 EPCs hence he/she will pass qualification in one week with no more work required. Student will receieve a PASS certificate within couple of weeks later and can satrt work.

 

During 3 days training a student will complete 2 EPCs during the training and remaining 3 EPCs for different properties will have to be completed by  the student. Student will find his/her own properties suitable for portfolio and can also do EPC of his/her own property or a property of a relative/friend etc. After the completion of 5 EPCs on different properties; student will submit his/her portfolio to the college for an assessment. After successful completion of portfolio student can get City & Guilds Pass certificate.

For 5 days DEA course - Within 2 weeks after completion of course.

For 3 days DEA course - Within 2 weeks after successful completion of Portfolio submitted by the student.

No :). Our training route is based on short assignments conducted in the classroom or online and Portfolio  completion only. You can complete your portfolio in your own time with no pressure. But during  5 days DEA course you will also complete your portfolio and Pass within one week.

In order to work as Domestic / Commercial Energy Assessor or Green Deal Advisor you will need to become accredited with a Government recognised accreditation scheme once you are qualified. Membership of many of these schemes is usually free and you will be given their details during your training. Once you are accredited (which can happen in couple of days) you are able to produce and sign off EPC's and Green Deal Reports.

No previous experience is necessary for any of our courses however we would recommend that you have at least a basic ability to input data into a computer.

You would be expected to know how to write simple letter using computer, how to send / receive e-mails and how to save documents on a computer.
